B and B’s 2005 Recap
January
- We sold our Sony FRV26 laptop and bought Bunni a Sony K35.
- On the 12th we enjoyed a high temperature of 62°F!
- Mom saw the end of her chemo and radiation treatments. Chemo seems to have depleted the magnesium in her blood and it’s not coming back to normal. She is forced to undergo regular magnesium infusions through her picc line. Her oncologist is optimistic about the CT scans showing the cancer is gone.
- Bunni had her annual mammy whammy.
- Bunni’s Uncle Mike passed away on the 25th.
February
- Bunni tried her first permanent hair colour. It came out a bit too red but it covered those nasty gray hairs.
- Grandson Blake turned 2 years old.
- Ken and Kristi came over from Illinois for a weekend visit.
- Both Bear and Bunni had their eye checkups at Sam’s.
- 2005 season of Nascar began.
- On the 15th we enjoyed a high temperature of 68°F!
March
- We got XM Satellite radio, specifically XM2GO MyFi.
- Mom is still getting magnesium infusions.
- Bunni got a new car. She traded her little green 2000 Hyundai Accent, affectionately called the Baby Booger, for a black 2005 Hyundai Elantra, affectionately dubbed The Phantom.
April
- We took in the Dayton Auto Show downtown at the Convention Center.
- We spent a weekend in Pennsylvania.
- After PA we arrived home to find the fridge had quit working and all frozen foods had thawed.
- The washing machine leaked, destroying the floor in the laundry area and bathroom.
- Bunni had her 6 month dental appointment.
- Son Bud turned 26!
May
- Bunni drove up and spent 2 weeks in Ontario with her family.
- Bear got to go golfing several times in May.
- Bunni got busy with spring cleaning and spring gardening.
- We hiked in to the falls at Charleston Falls Preserve a few miles north of home.
- We visited the Ohio Caverns near West Liberty, Ohio.
June
- Bunni spent 8 days in Ontario visiting her family.
- Bunni had her 6 month doctor appointment. Blood test results for cholesterol came back satisfactory.
- We celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on the 29th.
July
- We played a round of mini-putt at Adventure Golf.
- Bear joined the Milton Club, a men’s social club.
- We both enjoyed a 6 day vacation in Ontario with Bunni’s family.
- Mom had problems with her Picc line so they had to remove it and re-insert a new one.
- 11th Daddy turned 76!!!! ![]()
- 13th Bear turned 50!!!! ![]()
- 17th Randy turned 50!!!! ![]()
- Bunni’s Uncle Jim passed away on the 29th.
August
- Bunni’s brother Randy and his wife Judy came and spent a weekend with us.
- Bear, Bunni, Randy and Judy attended the races at Eldora Speedway.
- Mom spent a night in hospital with congestive heart failure.
- We went to a Dayton Dragons baseball game.
- Our betta, Nemo, passed away after being with us for 18 months.
- The Reed family reunion was held back in Ontario in the Deseronto area but Bunni was unable to attend. ![]()
- Granddaughter Emma turned 1 year old.
- Bear leases a 2005 Chevy Malibu LT.
September
- We attended the Preble County Pork Festival in Eaton, Ohio.
- We went to the Fraze Pavilion and saw a performance by The Menus. It was excellent!
- Our aged waterbed sprung a leak and had to be replaced with a nifty expensive new Dormia mattress.
- We went shopping over at the Jeffersonville Outlet Mall.
- We played a round of mini-putt at Adventure Golf.
October
- 1st Charlie Tuna joins our little family.
- 2nd We celebrate 9 years since we met.
- Bunni enjoys a week in Ontario with her family, including Thanksgiving dinner at Randy and Judy’s house.
- 26th Bunni ‘enjoys’ her bi-annual dental check-up
- 28th Momma turned 72 years old!
- Bunni has remote start installed on her Elantra.
November
- Bunni attends friend Jean’s class on making chenille scarves.
- Bear bought Bunni a Linksys cordless Skype phone so she can Skype with her folks without being tethered to her computer.
- Bear hurt his back playing golf and had to visit the doctor’s office for painkillers.
- 15th Bean turned 30 and Bunni’s Mom and Dad celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary
- 19th Bunni turned 52 years old!!! We were at the Club and Nancy presented Bunni with a beautiful birthday cake! Bunni was totally surprised!
- We enjoyed a very quiet (American) Thanksgiving dinner.
- 26th Mom got a positive report from her oncologist in Kingston
- We visited the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
December
- 2nd and 3rd We went to PA to visit Bear’s folks
- Christmas cards mailed, Christmas lights hung outside.
- 8th and 9th We got a good snowfall.
- 10th We went up to Springfield, OH with Tom and Nancy to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Fundraiser featuring a local group, The Del Satins, who have been performing for the past 20 years. This was the group’s final performance and their Do Wop dazzled!
- 15th Another good snowfall graced our area.
- 17th We went to Ed and Cindy’s for cocktails and then joined the golf group at The Wellington Grille for our annual Christmas dinner
- 20th Pool Buddies Christmas lunch
- 21st Christmas party in the offices next to Bear’s. They always include Bear and Bunni each year as Bear is alone in his offices.
- Great news! Mom went 22 days between magnesium infusions!
- Good news! Bear’s brother and wife are expecting their first baby!
- Not so good news. Bunni’s brother Steve and his wife Ludy are experiencing difficulties in their pending adoption of Baby Stephanie in the Philippines.
- 31st Bear and Bunni share a quiet New Year’s Eve.
